PGCMS partners with MedChi in advocacy regarding public policy, laws, and regulations that impact the practice of medicine, patients, and the public health. As a member physician, you will receive regular updates about legislative actions; you will also have the opportunity to participate in setting our legislative agenda, policy positions and participating in the legislative process.
Introduction to Legislative Advocacy
State Legislators make a lot of decisions that impact the practice of medicine, including scope of practice, medical liability, prescription drug regulations, access to healthcare, and public health policies. The physicians of PGCMS play a critical role in educating legislators so that they can make informed decisions.
The Maryland Medical Political Action Committee
The Maryland Medical Political Action Committee is dedicated to supporting Maryland legislators who fight to protect the interests of physicians and their patients by standing up to malpractice lawyers and insurance companies. With your ongoing support, we will continue to achieve important legislative victories.
